At any time. Our longer courses are not designed to follow the guidelines of a textbook – the aim is for you to simply learn. When you enrol, you’ll do a speaking test so we can place you in the most appropriate group for your level. The following week, you’ll start your classes. To make the most of your learning, you’ll be able to change to a higher level if you progress beyond your current group’s level. In this way, your development will be constant.
All the material will be published on your virtual campus: class recordings in case you want to revise previous lessons, in addition to audios, videos, worksheets, exams, etc. From the students’ area, you’ll also be able to access the class in real time with a simple click. You’ll be able to ask your teacher for extra material to work on specific areas that you need to improve, and they’ll upload it to this space.
Your username and password will be sent to you automatically at the email address you give us.
In any type of course (extended, intensive or made for you) the pupil will be able to access recordings of their group’s classes in their virtual area. The teaching resources used and classwork/homework will also be available.
If you’re enrolled on a made for you course with private sessions, the class can be rearranged up to 24 hours before its scheduled time, so you’ll never have to miss or ‘lose’ a class if you notify us in advance.
Of course. The made for you courses are based on the philosophy of having plenty of flexibility when designing a course. We’ll adapt to your specific needs.
Before starting your classes, you’ll do a level test with a spoken interview to ensure that all the members of the group have a similar level and can follow the classes without difficulty.
The THINK BIG LANGUAGES philosophy is that an extended course is a complete learning period, whether annual or for 6 months. For this reason, if you outgrow your group, we plan for the teacher to contact you personally and suggest moving to a higher level so that you can continue progressing.
If you enrol on an intensive course for exam certificate preparation, you’ll receive all kinds of exam-related material so that you can familiarise yourself with the exam format and content, and learn to do the exam tasks efficiently with the best chance of success. If you need to work on a certain area, the teacher will provide you with specific material upon request.
On the extended courses for 6 months or a year, the pupil has 6 or 12 tutorials respectively. These consist of a private session between the pupil and the teacher for you to ask for extra material or revise any particular topic or skill. Each tutorial will be 15 minutes long; you can use a maximum of two per session, with the opportunity to spend more time working on your development.
The classes are taught using a built-in system using advanced technical tools that are internet-based on devices like computers, tablets and mobile phones. Having minimum conditions in place for the technology you use is therefore absolutely essential.
The first requirement is a suitable internet connection. The student must make sure that the quality of their connection is consistent and doesn’t suffer from interference during the video conferences.
We advise you to use a desktop computer or laptop for optimum viewing. You can also connect to the class from a mobile or tablet device, but you must be aware of their limitations owing to the size of the screen and the way they operate to be able to follow the class comfortably and open the additional material at the same time, or even write.
The use of a microphone will also be necessary. The sound in an online class is even more important than the image, as the classes are very interactive. Your microphone must be of an acceptable quality and shouldn’t pick up noise that would affect the rest of the class’s listening experience.
Although not compulsory, a camera is necessary for your teacher and classmates to see you. The idea is to create a class environment as similar as possible to being in a classroom sat around a table together. The camera can be integrated into the computer or be external.
You’ll be given a manual detailing the minimum and advised technical resources, as well as the procedure to access the video conferences (browser, microphone and camera permission, etc.).
The purchasing process is always carried out on our website thinkbiglanguages.com from any device, although it will be more comfortable using a desktop computer or laptop.
The user will be able to select the desired course from the page where the said course appears. You’ll be able to select the language, level, days and timetable for the classes. The user will adjust these selectors to choose the course suitable for their needs. Your choice will show the teacher in charge of that course.
Payment will be made by card online (for example, by bank card).
If you need assistance during the purchasing process or if you have any doubts about the courses, you can contact us by telephone (+34 655 650 443 / +44 7464 221908), by email (info@thinkbiglanguages.com) or via the chatbot on our website.
